Aberdeen is part of the Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District, which shares its educational policies and curricula with the neighboring community of Matawan. Schools in the district include Cliffwood Elementary School, Ravine Drive Elementary School, Strathmore Elementary School, Lloyd Road Elementary School, Matawan-Aberdeen Middle School and Matawan Regional High School. Opportunities for higher education can be reached at Brookdale Community College, Monmouth University, Rutgers University and Wagner College. Recreation The Henry Hudson Trail is a paved trail built on a former Central Railroad of New Jersey built for walking, running and cycling. Area parks include Holmdel Park, Cross Park, and Cheesequake State Park. Nearby lakes, the Raritan Bay, and the Atlantic Ocean offer fishing and swimming to the populace. Local Events Aberdeen Township offers a calendar of events throughout the year, including the town's annual Birthday Bash, Aberdeen Day, and Movies in the Park. Beach Fest at Cliffwood Beach, complete with clambake, fishing and family movie welcome residents young and old. Aberdeen Day present an evening concert, car show, rides and vendors to the summer community, while the Aberdeen 5K Run/Walk takes place in the fall. |
